Holy Guacamole!

I love quacamole avocados. Like many of the other foods that I love now, I had never had avocado until I went to college. My first encounter was on a weekend away with my friends to Siesta Key. The woman that we stayed with had an avocado tree in her backyard and made us the most amazing guacamole ever. Ever since then I have been hooked. I've even been known to order things from restaurants based on the dish including avocados even if it's something I wouldn't normally get.

Today I am going to share my amazing foolproof recipe for guacamole. I've tried a ton of recipes over the years and tweaked all of them into one amazing recipe that turns out great every time.

What ya need:
4 super ripe hass avocados
1 small red onion diced
About 3/4 red tomato diced
A few cloves of garlic minced
A big handful of fresh chopped cilantro
1/2 Tbsp salt
The juice from half a lime

The first thing you want to do is cut up your avocados and mash them with a fork. I have and avocado slicer but I have found that the best way to cut the fruit up to use in guacamole is to cute in half, remove the seed and then cut a grid into the flesh. Once you have the grid cut all you need to do is flip the skin inside out.

Once you have the avocado mashed up to the consistency of your liking you can stir in all of the other ingredients. That's it- simple right? You may have noticed that I don't add any heat to my guac. The reason for this is because I make it for parties and I want to please everyone's taste. If you'd like a little fire, throw in a diced jalapeno pepper or serrano chile.
