A Few Friday Favs

I was laying on my back the other day taking a picture of this tree in my yard

When this one jumped on me

I managed to snap a few pictures before she went for the full on tackle
Oh this girl
She is crazy and I love her

On Wednesday we went to a children's museum call Great Explorations with my Mom's group
It's a great place for little ones if you live in the area
They have lots of little pretend zones

Aubs liked the "grocery store"
Check out her face looking at those fake cakes

It was hard to pull her away from this string-less laser harp

My favorite guilty pleasure at home right now is Green Mountain Pumpkin Spice K-cups
Starbucks makes them the best but these are a close second
I also love this mug- it was a birthday present from my sis in-law Tamie

I love this song!
It's my current favorite
Although I'm sure that will change by next week

We have another super busy weekend coming up that includes a bachlorette party for an old college friend and our niece's 5th birthday party. I hope everyone has a fabulous weekend. I look forward to seeing all of your cool weather pictures on Monday so that I can live vicariously through you. I am linking up with the amazingly inspirational Rachel at Finding Joy today.

Elmo & Attitude

Aubrey's personally seems to be developing by the minute. She is definitely a girl that knows what she likes and lets you know. She's not a brat about it. You can just tell by the little air of attitude that she gives towards something she doesn't like. The same enthusiasm goes into what she does like. She approaches her favorite things with gusto. Right now she is in love with books, her play tunnel, Elmo and Mickey(or as she says "Mikey). Her personality is big for sure and I am happy about it. Although I might not feel the same way when she is a teenager but for now it's great.
We took a trip up to see my Mom yesterday because Joe was working late and my Dad was in Orlando for work. My Mom has a hokey pokey Elmo that completely entrances Aubs. He's actually really cute, I mean how can you resist that squeaky little voice singing and shaking it all about.

The light at my parent's is gorgeous in the evening so I'm always sure to bring my camera.

I am also linking up with Morgan at Mama Loves Papa for Small Style. I haven't done it in awhile and I love Aubrey's outfit in these pictures. Since colder weather is near (hopefully) she won't be able to wear it for very much longer. Maybe in the spring I can throw some leggings on underneath and turn it into a tunic.

Whoopsie- Plan B

So today I was going to post a DIY project. I've had the stuff sitting in my back room in a Joann's bag for over a month. Something always seems to come up and I push it down my to do list. I decided yesterday was going to be the day to get it done. Baby was asleep and I totally had my chance. I gathered up all my supplies and took a few pictures of them nicely laid out. Because that's what normal people do right? I go to load my staple gun and.... I bought the wrong size staples. Awesome.

So here's plan B. I going to do that little survey thingy that's been all up and down the blogosphere. I mean I've seen it at least 7 or 8 times so I am being totally unoriginal. It reminds me of those bulletins we all use to post back in MySpace days.

Our Weekend

Our busy weekend started out on Friday night
We had a surprise party for Joe's Step Dad
And boy was he surprised

He doesn't like a big deal being made of his birthdays. So on Thursday, his actual birthday every one acted low key just like he requested. Friday was a bit different though. We all gathered up at his house and surprised him when he got home from work. It was great food and company. Bert, the birthday boy had a blast. There's nothing better than a surprise party. The older you get the more silly you feel throwing yourself your own birthday party so a surprise party is the perfect solution. The only one that I have had was on my 22nd birthday and it was amazing. I was beyond surprised.

My parents are in town for a couple of weeks because my Dad has some business meetings all around Florida. They got in Friday but as you can see we were pretty busy. We headed on over there on Saturday to take the boat out on the water for a little bit. It was nice to be out and Aubs stayed in a good mood most of the time but when we stopped to fish it was HOT. Like really hot. I am so jealous of everyone else's blogs where they are sporting sweaters and boots. It feels like they are nowhere in sight down here.

Sunday we had the some of our family and friends over for football. My husband is a huge Eagles fan so yesterday was pretty disappointing. Losing to the Giants makes the sting even worse. I keep telling everyone that Karma must be kicking Mike Vicks butt because he has been injured two out of three games. Very sad for our beloved Eagles.

I didn't take any pictures while everyone was here because I forgot. I was too busy with the baby and the food I guess. Honestly I meant to take some but it slipped my mind. I did manage to get a few pictures of my girl afterwards in her new dress. Every time I see my Mom after I haven't seen her for awhile she has a big pile of clothes for Aubrey. She is a bit of a Zulily addict. The dress is by Itsus Eco. It's made from organic cotton and the company is all about manufacturing their products in an eviroment that is safe and healthy for the earth as well as their employees. I love the dress. I think it's super cute and comfy.

Sibs

Photobucket
2 Day Old Aubrey

Lately I've been thinking a lot about having more kids. It definitely has been something that I have always wanted but making the actual decision to start trying is a little scary. I guess it's like all things in life. When we set out to do things that seem so foreign and it can be frightening. I guess we just have to take the risk and hope for the best. It was like that with Aubrey too. I was amazingly excited when I found out that I was pregnant but I was also scared of changes that were happening in my life.

What seemed so scary then is now my wonderful everyday life. It has been a lot different from what my life use to be and some days are harder than others but I feel like we made the right decision to have our first child. Right is understatement, amazing decision would be more like it. I am sure I'm bound to feel the same when we set out for our next one but I still need a little bit of time. It will be soon just not right now. It is just me being scared of the unknown. Aubs needs a sib and when the time is right we will know.

What's In a Name?

You may have noticed or maybe you haven't but I often refer to Aubrey as Doodle. That is my nickname for her and now most of our family will call her that on occasion. I know it's not the typical term of endearment such as babe, honey, sweetie and so on but I think it fits.

How it all came about was that when she was a tiny baby I used to call her Auba- Doodle, like Magna Doodle. Why you ask? I really have no idea. You just end up coming up with some weird stuff when you are sleep deprived and there are hormones coursing raging through your body.

Ever since then she has been our little doodle. Or Doodles, Doodle Bop, Doodle Pie, Doodle Bug. Also if you are a Lady GaGa fan like myself I often sing Doo-dle Doodle Ba-op to the chorus melody of Judas. I have an awesome voice- wink wink.

My nickname growing up and still to many of my family memebers today is Bird. This came about when my Mom was feeding me and my brother said I looked just like a baby bird. Since then I have been known as Bird, Bird Lady, T-Bird (my middle name is Tyler), Tweets, and Tweetsie. So now you can see where my crazy nicknaming skills come from, blame it all on my parents. Joe on the other hand doesn't have a family nickname, I might have to work on that.

Definitely a Doodle
