Last week the Sirius XM subscription in my car expired. I was pretty devastated when I realized that the only station coming in was information. It's a little pricey so I haven't worked myself up enough to call and renew it. So all it has been is local radio for me lately. Although Rihanna's "We Found Love" is a catchy song, I may just veer into on coming traffic if it starts playing on the radio again for the millionth time. I don't buy very many cd's anymore because I usually just download music on my phone for the gym or listen Sirius. At home I either listen to music from computer or one of the music stations on my television. I guess I could always play Aubs Laurie Berkner CD on a loop but that might also cause some automotive veering after a couple of days. So with all that said here are a couple of my favorite songs at the moment.
{which I never hear on local radio}
Gaslight Anthem "American Slang"
I'm not usually a big Coldplay fan but I thoroughly enjoy this song, which you've probably heard because they have been playing on every possible talk show that they can. I put a live version up because I don't like the video and Chris Martin sound incredible live anyway.
On and here's a little bonus. I have loved Manchester Orchestra for years but I have a feeling a lot of my readers would not enjoy this one so much. But if you like a little bit edger music and harsh but artsy perspective, feel free to click here.
I was devastated when my subscription ended, because I loooooved it and my husband refused to renew due to the cost. So sad! My current Please Shoot Me Now song is "You & I" by Lady Gaga...I miss my Broadway showtunes channel!
ReplyDeleteThank you for introducing me to Gaslight Anthem! I just added their station to my Pandora!
ReplyDelete"Moves Like Jagger" is on every single time I get in the car and it drives me insane. I swear the local stations play it every 30 minutes, max.
ReplyDeleteI never listened to Sirius, but my husband was not happy when our subscription ended. Luckily, we have an AV input, so I can plug my iPod or iPhone right into the car sound system. I love it.
ReplyDeletetotally digging on gaslight anthem now!
ReplyDeleteI still have my Sirius sub for now.. only because our local stations play the same stuff over and over again boring!
