The 10th was the end of my 26 day diet cycle. If your not familiar with the diet I am on you can read all about it here. I know I said I was only going to do one cycle but I caved and ordered another one that I am currently doing. The reason I am doing a second cycle is because I cheated way too much on the first one. I would do fine for a couple of days and then fall off when we went to a family function or on the weekends. With that said, I did lose 15 pounds. Although I think I gained a couple on the first 2 days when your suppose to eat a lot so I would say 12-15 instead of a solid 15. I can tell mostly in my face right now but I'm sure it came off the rest of body too because 15 pounds from just my face would be a little ridiculous, don't ya think?
Here are some befores and afters of my face. This is by far the worst picture I have ever posted of myself. The after was taken yesterday by Joe and it's a pretty bad picture but I really wanted to do this post today so I'm going to put it up anyway, plus you can really see the weight that came off my face. If you follow me on twitter, you've probably read that I'm fighting a pretty wicked cold right now. That is my explanation for the sick eyes and super fake smile in the second photo.
I've been doing amazing with the diet for the past week and a half and I'm feeling really great. I am hoping to drop 10 more pounds by the time I go to Vegas so I am cutting out red meat and adding some light exercise to my routine. I am still hungry but it's not unbearable as long as I keep myself busy and drink tons of water. The worst part of my day is probably right before dinner, it's when I'm at my hungriest and I get tempted to pick on whatever I am cooking Joe and the baby for dinner.
I'm happy with diet over all. I'm not going to lie, the first week is really rough but once you get on a roll and see those pounds coming off it gets easier. It has also made me a lot more conscious about my food choices in general. I have known for a long time that my body doesn't handle carbs very well and this diet was a good reminder of that. I will definitely continue to monitor my calorie and fat intake closely after I finish this cycle so that I don't pack the pounds right back on. The main lesson I've learned is that you can't go wrong with lean protein and lots of vegetables. I will update again once I am finished with the second cycle.
