I absolutely love having a newborn in the house, especially my newborn. I love her tiny little body with her big belly, her sleepy smiles and on the top of my list is the way she smells. I could smell Finley's head all day long. Weird I know but she is probably my last newborn so I want to soak it all in. I don't know if she smells that good to everyone but I still insist that everyone smell her head. They might be just humoring me when they say she smells as good as I think she does. The one thing that takes away from newborn perfection is their tendency to only sleep for two hours at a time.
Finley sleeps three hours at a time a most, but usually two. Which is to be expected because she is only 3 weeks old. It's tough on Mama though. There have definitly been nights where I want to throw in the
I use to never check the time when I'd be up with Kingston. There is something about knowing I've only slept "x" amount of hours that makes it so much worse. David was obsessed with Kingston's "baby breath". He would love smelling the inside of his mouth after he nursed- so don't feel weird about asking people to only smell her head. Oh and I love that picture of her and Joey. Pretty much sums up life with a newborn
ReplyDeleteMy sister in law was just telling me how she feels rested today bc she got an un interrupted 4 hours of sleep. Its funny how that first time they do a bigger stretch, it doesn't matter if it's only 4 hours, it feel glorious! Great pictures as usual :)

ReplyDeleteWhen I became a mom...I started drinking coffee. HOORAY for coffee! I remember when Braden slept 3 hours in a row when he was 2 weeks old...I was OVER THE MOON excited. Aaaaaand I get to celebrate that again soon!
ReplyDeleteShe is such a cutie!!
ReplyDeleteYes coffee. So important. Our sleep is so sad right now. My son does hi best sleeping at dinnertime. He will always sleep 3 hours. I have even tried to keep him up - but my hunger out weighed the thought. We will sleep later right?
Congrats on your adorable new baby!!
ReplyDeleteSuch a sweet picture. Of course she smells delicious! Marc couldn't believe how good Hudson's baby breath smelled. He had never been around a nursed baby and couldn't get over the fact that they smell so sweet.
